Loved It! Outdoor Movie Night

I spent the better part of last week on a mini vacation that included a little camping trip.  While there, we broke out a projector and white blanket and had ourselves a movie night by the campfire.  Although it was a bit on the makeshift side, (i.e; ghetto) it was a whole lot of fun!  And so to anyone that already has a backyard, a white sheet and access to a projector, I highly recommend turning your yard into a theater.

Loved It! Nectarine, Goat Cheese and Balsamic Pizza

I must start this post with a warning.  Once you make this pizza you may never be able to stop. Stop making it or stop eating it?  Both.  It's oh so easy to assemble and only takes about 20 minutes to bake.
Shall we begin?

I don't bother making my own pizza dough.  If you do then I applaud your ambition.  I'm just too darn lazy.  I prefer the pre-made dough at Grand Central Bakery but if you don't live near one of those, Trader Joe's also has great dough.
All you will need besides the dough is:
  • One Nectarine, sliced
  • Basil
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Goat Cheese (herbed or plain)
  • Shredded Italian Cheese Mix
  • EVOO (extra virgin olive oil. I'm embarassed to tell you how many times at the restaurant I had to ask if those were Roman Numerals....)

Pre-heat oven to 450 (or whatever the packaged directions say) Now all you have to do is assemble.  First start with the olive oil. Spread a nice layer of that all over. Now sprinkle with the mixed cheeses. Next are the nectarines, followed by goat cheese. Drizzle with the balsamic vinegar. Sprinkle some more mixed cheese. Stick in the oven. Just 5 minutes before it's done, take out, layer the basil on top, stick back in the oven. Let cook for the remaining 5 minutes.  Enjoy!

Loved It! True Blue

Nothing like a pair of kulats to make you feel young again. Last time I wore kulats Madonna's True Blue had to be a chart-topper.  I guess what's old is new again...or so I tell myself.

Loved It! French Noir Film...

The life of a cat may seem glamorous to some but in reality it's empty.  Watch and enjoy.  And enjoy your weekend!

Loved It: Ponytails

Temperatures are rising and that means a girl needs to find cute ways to get her hair off her sticky neck.  There's nothing quite as classic as a ponytail.  Don't be fooled.  There is an art to it.  I've gathered some of my favorite ponies.  Note, with each one there is height (no doubt achieved by some good ol' back combing) at the crown, and the texture of the hair matches the style of the pony. (in other words, if the pony is sleek so is the hair and vice versa for a messy style.) Let me know which one is your favorite.

Loved It! Glamping

Every summer my family heads to central Oregon for a camping trip near LaPine.  If you've never been to this area of the state, let me go ahead and recommend that you do!  It's beautiful and always hot.  Perfect for long days on the lake.
While I cannot deny that camping has it's ups (swimming, boating, sun-tans, yummy food, good drinks, camp fires, card games, smores, bike rides, family and friends...) it also has it's downs (freezing nights, hard ground, hard work, bug bites, long treks in the middle of the night to the bathroom...).  All I ask is to combine the best of camping with the luxury of home.  While you may be thinking, that's a trailer, I say, it's called glamping!

I would love to go camping here:

It's a place in Montana called Paws Up.  Doesn't it just look like heaven? A personal chef and butler, and your very own bathroom.  Sold.  (well not really. it's like a million dollars, but a girl can dream.)

In the meantime I found this website and I'm a little obsessed.  It's everything you need to make your camping trip comfortable and stylish! Now if only I could get that bathroom situation figured out...
